√Čva Valsami-Jones, coordinator of ACEnano project, will contribute to the session 2.1 – Risk governance and management of innovation of Industrial Technologies 2018 with a presentation entitled "The role of research in supporting safe innovation in the nanotechnology industry".

Managing the risks of every emerging technology is of key importance for its societal acceptance and consequent development. Significant progress has been achieved on the safety of some technologies (like nanotechnology) including how to transfer this knowledge effectively into regulation. However, bringing more emerging technologies to market level requires transdisciplinary risk governance. The understanding of risk, its management practice and the societal risk perception by all stakeholders will be discussed.

Industrial Technologies 2018 will be held in Vienna on 29-31 October.

Location Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center, Messeplatz 1, 1021 Vienna, Austria
