NANOfutures

NANOfutures asbl (NfA), having legal site in Brussels (Belgium), is the operative branch of NANOfutures cross-ETP integrating and innovation platform, which has the aim to be the European “Nano-Hub” by linking JTIs, industries, research organisations and universities, associations and ETPs with expert groups in a collaborative environment. 

NfA, which has a strong industry-oriented approach, was constituted in 2009 in Brussels. Nowadays, NfA has more than 1,100 members, including many companies (large and SMEs) and research organisations from all over Europe. This number is continuously increasing.

As part of its structure, the platform has NfA lighthouses, a network of 26 local contact points that acts as a clear connection helping to translate platform activities and actions to the countries/regions and viceversa. Also, as part of the Platform Steering Committee, NfA has representatives of key 11 ETPs from different sectors (nanomedicine, construction, textiles, manufacturing, chemistry, materials, photonics, transport, electronics…) that are also involved in nanotechnology. Moreover, it counts with 10 working groups tackling relevant issues regarding nanotechnology market deployment such as communication, networking, regulation, safety, standardisation or education.
